Subject: What is the gospel? |
Bible Note: Dear Sas, "love each other in our own world-where we live work and play" is not the gospel according to the Bible. According to the Bible, this is the gospel: 1 Cor 15:1 Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, 1 Cor 15:2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. 1 Cor 15:3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 1 Cor 15:4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, As you see, Sas, the gospel is not our about our experience at all. If the gospel is about anyone's experience, it's about Christ's experience, his sacrificial obedience unto death for the salvation of believers. As wonderful as our experience of Christ might be and our life in him, it is not and cannot substitute for the finished work of Christ on the cross in real space-time history. This is the gospel of our salvation. Peace, Lionstrong |
