Bible Question:
I heartily respect your belief on this matter, and have the utmost respect for you as a christian. I do not masturbate, for I have been skeptical of it. I do, however, have a tendency to look at things as either positive in my relationship to God, or negative. If one were to see masturbation as "getting out from under" the temptation towards sin, rather than a manifestation of it, how would you respond? This should be taken in the context that I am young and it would be unwise in almost all respects for me to wed at this time. Thank you for keeping up this debate with all your patience, and not getting easily angered and shunning us who may not understand God to the level of you. |
Bible Answer: You have stated, "I cannot claim to be as wise or knowledgeable." Perhaps then you will appreciate the value of some wisdom and knowledge. For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit. Ecc 2:26 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. 2Ti 2:16 But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people.
