Bible Question: Where in the bible are you getting your information from in that specifically, how it applies to us today? This is a question my wife and I are researching and would appreciate any feedback with biblical refrences, thank you. |
Bible Answer: Please note the person last posted 11/30/03 .... So they may not answer. My answer is There were three tithes, by the Law 1) the general tithe paid to the Levites (Num 18:21), who even tithed to the preists (vs 26). 2) the sacred meal tithe (Deu 14:22-27) 3) The tri-annual tithe to the poor (Deu 14:28-29) So that was 19 percent per year and 27 percent every three years, average 22 percent. Abraham paid a tithe to Melchizedek (Gen. 14:20; Heb. 7:6); and Jacob vowed unto the Lord to give a tenth (Gen. 28:22). These were given before the Law. What else in the OT do you want not to follow?
