Bible Question:
I am new here at study bible forum. I have been looking around this site and am wondering how does one get started. This is not exactly the typical bible study group I had intended to join. I want to learn about the bible. I dont want to read a group of Christians arguing silly points that another has raised. There are some very strange comments being made of this site. I truly want to learn more about the bible and its teachings. It seems to me that there are certain people on this site that want to get a point of theirs across weather it be helpful or just out of pure erragance. I have read the bible, but actually understanding is another point. Where can I go to start from the beginning and work my way through the bible with help online? I love Our Lord Jesus and want to get closer to him through the help of his people. Please note this is not a personal attack on anyone at this forum, but perhaps we should look at studing a little more, and not who looks better than whom. Thank you |
Bible Answer: Dear 1001 nights, I have been teaching the Bible for about 19 years or so. The reason for the name I have taken for this forum is because I believe the Word is the most important gift the Lord has given us from which we can navigate our lives in line with Him in this world. I try not to insist on my opinion of His Word but to give the scripture for any situation. I believe the Lord has answers for us through His word for any situation. I may not always find it but because of the time I have spent in His word and walking with Him, I may have enough to be able to help you get a good handle on it. This is what the Lord called me to do. I was born and raised a Roman Catholic of a Jewish mother and Roman Catholic father. I met the Lord while reading my Catholic Bible seeking Him with my whole heart. I no longer attend the Catholic Church but prefer an Assemblies of God denomination though I do not believe the Catholic Church is a cult or anything - I just feel that the Assemblies churches focus more on the word and the gifts of the Spirit which suits my understanding of the Word of God. From the time I was saved my life has never been the same. I continued to read His word and apply it to my life and have found that the Lord has never let me down. After being saved about seven years, and through a tragedy in the life of my family, He called me to minister through leading Bible study. As I have obeyed, most of those who have come to the study have been new Christians or they got saved upon entering our study. It has been a glorious blessing to me to have the privilege of watching these babes in Christ grow to maturity in their walk with the Lord Jesus. I would like nothing better than to share whatever the Lord may give me that could help you in your journey with Him. My attitude is that (Philippians 1:6)the Lord will finish what He has begun in you...that is not my job. However, if He so desires that I may be of some inspiration or help in this endeavor, it would be my privilege. Also, I encourage anyone in the studies that I lead to check the scriptures for themselves, to see if what I may say is true and if they disagree, that is their divine right. If this is at all what you are interested in, I would enjoy hearing from you maybe through e-mail we may be able to correspond with a limited study or I could answer some questions you may have.
