Bible Question:
I am new here at study bible forum. I have been looking around this site and am wondering how does one get started. This is not exactly the typical bible study group I had intended to join. I want to learn about the bible. I dont want to read a group of Christians arguing silly points that another has raised. There are some very strange comments being made of this site. I truly want to learn more about the bible and its teachings. It seems to me that there are certain people on this site that want to get a point of theirs across weather it be helpful or just out of pure erragance. I have read the bible, but actually understanding is another point. Where can I go to start from the beginning and work my way through the bible with help online? I love Our Lord Jesus and want to get closer to him through the help of his people. Please note this is not a personal attack on anyone at this forum, but perhaps we should look at studing a little more, and not who looks better than whom. Thank you |
Bible Answer: l00l_nights, I agree with Emmaus, in part. As you study, if you have a specific question, ask. Many have come to ask questions, even just if it is once. As far as a Bible study, I'd recommend that you - use a Serendipity Bible. It asks questions. For some, since it has very little cross references, they don't like it. - use http://www.blueletterbible.org/ for cross references - use http://bible.crosswalk.com/ for other tools While I do have a study Bible, I rather mediate (it is more than reading) on the Bible w/o any other influences, first. A key is ... prayer - before, so that you are listening to Him. Pray during and after, too. ... pick a book of the Bible, John is good and take your time ... record your notes of what you learned, questions and answers. Hope this helps, Searcher |
