Bible Question:
What does Son of Man mean? does it mean Jesus, the Son of God, since Man starts with big "M" in all the New Testament chapters or is it just referring to Jesus as the son of a human (Joseph)? vkey |
Bible Answer: Dear wkey: I believe it means this- From our point of view, what makes Jesus unique among men is that he is "The Son of God." However, from God's point of view, what makes Jesus unique in the Godhead is that He is the "Son of Man." God the Father and God the Holy Spirit are not...but Jesus is also one of us. Jesus is the second person of the Godhead who became one of us [Heb. 2:17]and understands things from our point of view because He truly became one of us. However, He was not really the son of Joseph. He was his stepson. He was truly the son of Mary which made Him human in reality, yet God is His Father. This was prophesied from the beginning in the middle of the curse where the Virgin Birth is hinted at in Genesis 3:15. Itiswritten |
