Subject: A question of capitalization: small "s"? |
Bible Note: Hi EdB, I'll be interested in what other people might be choosing for I think that these are valid considerations. I agree also with NKJ in the Daniel and the furnace episode. The figure in the furnace appeared like the Son of God and the men put their faith in their God who had sent His angel. I left out one "in the Spirit" phrases from Revelation. I would put the three that we have considered in lower case along with Rev 4:2. For consistency I would also put Matthew 22:43 as "Then how does David in the spirit call Him Lord,"... But if you know me at all you know that I would capitalize the three words of "Son" in that passage. In Acts 21:4, I chose the small "s" when I compared it with Acts 20:22,23 "And now, bound in spirit, I am on my way to Jerusalem,..." And just the fact that the will of the Lord, Acts 21:14, was to be done and Paul did go to Jerusalem (and to Rome), shows that it wasn't the Spirit telling Paul through them. Again, thank you EdB. I'm glad for the discussion if only to reinforce the truth that Jesus is the Son of God and the Son of Man. |
