Subject: Is John 3:16 for real? |
Bible Note: Dear DanK…..You wrote…. "At the moment, I'm struggling with the concept of decisional regeneration.........Wouldn't it be more accurate for me to say to a lost person, 'Pray that God the Father will draw you to Jesus, and if He does, you will be saved'"? I like the grouping “decisional regeneration” and I clearly understand what you mean. We have called it second guessing or thinking a thing to death. By using the method of decisional regeneration you inevitably must achieve a state of inaction resulting in the question never being asked. Is that the intention of God? Well, not according to the great commission. I have no advice, only the observation. You realize, of course, that you may be posing a new “secret phrase” that must be used in order for a man be saved ------ saved properly------in a particular circumstance. Is salvation the object of the prayer, with the heart a given, or is the object to ask for salvation regardless of the heart? I will push on in the company of salvation as the direct object of the prayer. God Bless….Jensen |
