Subject: Can one loose their salvation ? |
Bible Note: Thank you so much, Disciplined (or Josh), for your gentle spirit and kind words. They touch my heart. But in fact I do not consider myself as being eloquent and even less as someone whose example is worthy of emulation. Only a sinner saved by grace, that's what I am. The only example in all history that is truly worthy of our utmost efforts to pattern our lives after is the example so perfectly set by our Lord. Moreover, my friend, I know no finer standard of literary excellence in English than God's word itself as it is so magnificently translated by the language masters who gave us the Authorized or King James Bible. Many of the masters of literature who wrote in English have used this translation as a model of English usage. (If you are uncomfortable with the KJV, a second choice I would offer is the NKJV). I'm speaking of literary excellence here, with no intention of down-playing other fine translations..... Having said this, I would append one more personal observation, and that is this: Being able to write with a degree of clarity and felicity involves a certain sense and feeling for words and their meanings and an understanding of basic usage. This comes with years of experience. But, as desirable as these skills may be, they are not the first and most important business of the Christian. The main Christian goal that surpasses all others is to know Christ more clearly, to follow Him more nearly, and to love Him more dearly. It is to seek first the kingdom of God. I pray that God will richly bless your walk with Him. --Hank |
