Bible Question:
Dearest Brother, Could you please explain to me what Hebrews5:-9 means to you? (Though he were a Son yet he learned obedience by the things which he suffered, And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him. 1st- You can't teach GOD obedience,2nd- You can't make GOD suffer. The scripture say's "being made perfect, he became" (not always was)If we read Hebrews2:7-10 it back's up what I am saying "made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death" "to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings" You can not make GOD suffer. I am not trying to take nothing away from GOD or Jesus(but there is a father and a son)it's just awesome the possibilites of a man with GOD are endless. If we read the 2nd Chapter of Acts we find that Jesus was a man approved of GOD(remember "this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased"Matthew17:5)It also talks about how GOD raised Jesus up(once again that's two)And to top it off it says "that GOD hath made that same Jesus"(GOD made Jesus). Now, back to Jesus being a man born with the same type of flesh as you and I (refer to 1Cornithians15:39 one kind of flesh of men) now no one wants to see this because it means you will have to measure up to the man Jesus. We can be just like Jesus if we allow GOD to take up his abode in us as Jesus did. And, come to the realization that we can be made perfect too if if we allow GOD to lead and guide us in everything. Read Matthew5:48 " Be ye therefore perfect even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.(In my bible this is in red print, Jesus very words telling me to be perfect).Looking at your reference to to Colossians2:9 let us read this again starting at vs.1 paying particular attention to vs.2,3,8 and then 9. In reference to your comment about being a "false teacher", this is not something you want to get into a habit of doing. Unless, GOD tell's you a certain individual is a "false teacher" , and I know GOD did not tell you that did he? You did ask him didn't you? You might want to read Hebrews13:2(GOD taught me along time ago you have to be careful of what you say). Proverbs21:23 Don't be so quick to judge the words I speak. I speak these words, I speak because I see Jesus and know the truth! Show me where in the scripture where it says Jesus was GOD and I'll stop speaking like this. But, I invite you to search the scriptures(in them are life, Jesus said I give you life more abundantly) in several places in the bible it tells us Jesus was a man. Grace be with you my brothers, Bro. Tom |
Bible Answer: Of course Jesus was a man. He was both man (flesh) and God (Spirit). The main verse that comes immediately to mind is John 1:14 "And the Word became flesh..." and if you go back to John 1:1-5, it explains WHO the Word is. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word WAS God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." God is Father/Son/Holy Spirit. Those three are ONE. 1John 1:1,2 states "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life -- THE LIFE WAS MANIFESTED, AND WE HAVE SEEN, AND BEAR WITNESS, AND DECLARE TO YOU THAT ETERNAL LIFE WHICH WAS WITH THE FATHER AND WAS MANIFESTED TO US...." Speaking of Jesus Christ, Revelation 19:13 also states "He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God." 1John 4:7 "... the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one." Jesus was "The Word of God" begotten in the flesh. Not created BY the Word as Adam was in Genesis, but BEGOTTEN in the flesh, and that is why He is called the "Son". The Son, Jesus Christ, is the WORD OF GOD. |
