Bible Question:
Dearest Brother, Could you please explain to me what Hebrews5:-9 means to you? (Though he were a Son yet he learned obedience by the things which he suffered, And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him. 1st- You can't teach GOD obedience,2nd- You can't make GOD suffer. The scripture say's "being made perfect, he became" (not always was)If we read Hebrews2:7-10 it back's up what I am saying "made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death" "to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings" You can not make GOD suffer. I am not trying to take nothing away from GOD or Jesus(but there is a father and a son)it's just awesome the possibilites of a man with GOD are endless. If we read the 2nd Chapter of Acts we find that Jesus was a man approved of GOD(remember "this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased"Matthew17:5)It also talks about how GOD raised Jesus up(once again that's two)And to top it off it says "that GOD hath made that same Jesus"(GOD made Jesus). Now, back to Jesus being a man born with the same type of flesh as you and I (refer to 1Cornithians15:39 one kind of flesh of men) now no one wants to see this because it means you will have to measure up to the man Jesus. We can be just like Jesus if we allow GOD to take up his abode in us as Jesus did. And, come to the realization that we can be made perfect too if if we allow GOD to lead and guide us in everything. Read Matthew5:48 " Be ye therefore perfect even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.(In my bible this is in red print, Jesus very words telling me to be perfect).Looking at your reference to to Colossians2:9 let us read this again starting at vs.1 paying particular attention to vs.2,3,8 and then 9. In reference to your comment about being a "false teacher", this is not something you want to get into a habit of doing. Unless, GOD tell's you a certain individual is a "false teacher" , and I know GOD did not tell you that did he? You did ask him didn't you? You might want to read Hebrews13:2(GOD taught me along time ago you have to be careful of what you say). Proverbs21:23 Don't be so quick to judge the words I speak. I speak these words, I speak because I see Jesus and know the truth! Show me where in the scripture where it says Jesus was GOD and I'll stop speaking like this. But, I invite you to search the scriptures(in them are life, Jesus said I give you life more abundantly) in several places in the bible it tells us Jesus was a man. Grace be with you my brothers, Bro. Tom |
Bible Answer: Here are SOME of the places in Scripture that PROVE that Jesus was, in fact, GOD HIMSELF!! Psalm 102:24-27, Psalm 110:1, Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 8:13-14, Isaiah 9:6, Isaiah 40:3, Daniel 7:13-14, Micah 5:2, Matthew 1:23, Matthew 3:3, Matthew 11:19, Matthew 12:8, Matthew 22:42-45, Matthew 26:63-67, Mark 1:1, Mark 15:39, John 1:1, John 1:14, John 1:18, John 3:16, John 3:18, John 5:18, John 20:28, Acts 3:14, Acts 10:36, Acts 20:28, Romans 9:5, Romans 10:12, 1 Corinthians 1:9, 2 Corinthians 1:19, Galatians 2:20, Ephesians 4:13, Philippians 2:6, Titus 2:13, Hebrews 1:2, Hebrews 1:10-13, 1 Peter 2:8, 2 Peter 1:1, 2 Peter 1:17, 1 John 1:2, 1 John 3:23, 1 John 4:9, 1 John 5:10, 1 John 5:12-13, 1 John 5:20-21, Revelation 1:8, Revelation 1:11, Revelation 1:17, Revelation 17:14, Revelation 21:22, Revelation 22:13!!! Dear Bro. Tom, I REFUSE to let you off the hook here.. I challenge you to go through each and every single one of these Scriptures to see if Jesus was God Himself or not. What version of the Bible do you read out of anyway? I will tirelessly refute every single one of your posts that state that Jesus Christ was not God! If you do not believe this very FACT, which is the basis for the WHOLE Christian faith, then you are not a Christian! What cult are you a part of? Are you a Jehovah's Witness? If you continue to state that Jesus was not God, then you should not be a part of this Forum! We will take measures against you! If you go through each of those passages above, then you will be effectively PROVEN WRONG. You will see that Jesus was in fact, God Himself! ------------ As for Hebrews 5:9: Here is an explanation on Hebrews 5:9.. "5:8-9 The phrase “learned obedience by the things which He suffered” does not mean that Jesus was ever disobedient but rather that He learned through experience as a Man and through all His temptation and suffering what it meant to suffer and triumph in a way He did not experience before the incarnation. His humanity was in this sense “completed,” which is the meaning of the Greek word translated “perfected” in this context." (Believer's Study Bible) "having been perfected: This phrase does not suggest that Jesus had not been perfect before. It means that He successfully carried out God’s plan for Him. He endured suffering and temptation so that He could truly function as our High Priest, understanding our weaknesses and interceding before God for us. Author means “cause” or “source.” Jesus’ obedience to the Father led to Calvary, His own death on the Cross. The sacrifice of this sinless One in our place makes Him the source of our salvation." (Nelson's Study Bible) "In His divine nature, Christ was already perfect. However, His human nature was perfected through obedience, including suffering in order that He might be an understanding High-Priest, an example for believers (see Heb. 7:25-28; Philippians 2:8; 1 Peter 2:21), and establish the perfect righteousness (Matt. 3:15) to be imputed to believers (2 Cor. 5:21; Phil. 3:8,19)." (The MacArthur Study Bible) From this point on, I will "watch" your every move, Bro. Tom, and tirelessly refute you anywhere and everywhere on the Forum where you state that Jesus Christ was not God Himself. Do you realize what you are saying here? You are denying the very divine nature of the Son of God! To do so is heresy! And I will not let you get away with it! --Nolan |
