NASB | Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Revelation 20:6 Blessed (happy, prosperous, to be admired) and holy is the person who takes part in the first resurrection; over these the second death [which is eternal separation from God, the lake of fire] has no power or authority, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and they will reign with Him a thousand years. [Ex 19:6; 1 Pet 2:5, 9; Rev 1:6; 5:10] |
Subject: Is this a lottery? |
Bible Note: Rev 20:4 says that only those who 1. beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, 2. and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, 3. and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; ... they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. There are those Christians who died before the mark was issued ... and maybe some didn't make ALL THREE qualifications. If we die before these events, we will not be part of the FIRST resurrection (vs 5). |
