Bible Question:
I just need some help... I feel that I am a Christian but I just have never yeilded to Jesus. I have tried but I just do not know how. I have felt God in my life, but I want more I want the Holy Sprit. I know that I must yeild to God. I just do not know how. People have prayed over me and it felt like it was all just caught in my neck, not able to come out. I live for Jesus, I go to church, I have asked for forgiveness, I have asked Him into my heart, I listen to Christian music, I read the Bible every evening, I want more of Him though, in my life... If any one out there can tell me want to do, or where to read to yeild to God totally and completely... Please do so Thank you Lightman |
Bible Answer: Lightman, God bless you, brother. My heart is with you and I am feeling and wanting the same thing, and I feel God's leading me in the right direction. It's all about walking in the spirit. Galatians 5:16. I think it's about being led by the spirit (versus being led by the flesh) and learning to discern God's Holy Spirit's voice from the flesh and the enemy's. There are so many voices. But we know Gods spirit is in us who believe. And He said His sheep will know His voice. Then once you discern His voice, yielding to it is simply a matter of your will. And since it is conflicting with your flesh's voice, when you yield to His, your flesh is being 'put to death' or 'crucified', and therefore its going to 'hurt" our flesh. That, I believe, as we learn to do this on a day-to-day, situation-by-situation basis, is walking in the spirit, yielding to His will and not our own. And then we also are truly walking in love. I put in a search on the Web, "walking in the spirit" and found a homeschool site article which was very enlightening. Also Gregory Dickow has a teaching called "Flesh, your Fired" and "Walking in the Spirit" which I have learned a bunch from. He is also on the Web. Ask God to lead you, and then Listen very closely, and you will hear Him. He's faithful, brother. God Bless. I'll pray for you. Estella |
