NASB | 1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God [deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin, because God's seed [His principle of life, the essence of His righteous character] remains [permanently] in him [who is born again--who is reborn from above--spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose]; and he [who is born again] cannot habitually [live a life characterized by] sin, because he is born of God and longs to please Him. |
Bible Question: In response to your input and the Scriptures, I have a general understanding of what you mean. But, although I try my best not to sin, I know that I will probably sin again. However, I want to pay greater attention to not sinning against the Holy Spirit, because I know that I can't ever get Him back! My other sins, I know that God will forgive me and deliver me from them. Do you understand my point and concern now? Thank you for your response! God bless you! |
Bible Answer: Shalom jesus1km Once again, let's go to 1 John. This time to 3:5-9 5- And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 6- Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. 7- Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8- He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9- Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. These scriptures simply mean that you (any believer) will not willfully choose to sin, not that they will never commit a wrong. When you find that you have committed a wrong, confess it, clean it up, brush yourself off and move on for Romans 8:1 says There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Messiah Yeshua, who do not walk according to hte flesh, but according to hte Spirit. Actually, it would be to your benefit if you read the whole book of 1 John (it's very short, will only take about a half hour). Read it prayerfully, it will help aleviate your worries. Cheri |
