Bible Question:
Being a believer for years. I have recently began a SERIOUS effort to study the bible and follow God. I have repented of sins and believe God is the only way to eternal life. I now know he requires us to love and serve others. How does a selfish man, of 40 years, learn to give of himself? And love total strangers. Is this a working process or should that automatcally be in my heart now that I am a follower. It is hard to change a 40 years of ways all at once. Though I believe God can do it. But like a growing child, is there a learning stage we go threw with this. May God Bless and thanks |
Bible Answer: My answer is much more consistent with true faith. Begin to see the resurection in every part of your life. Calvary should be our last useless journey. While many prefer to crucify themselves and everyone they come in contact with, that is not the message of the cross. That wretched stick is empty and it is time for you to come down from the cross and live each day as if it were resurection day. Live in the light, deny sin it's existence. I think God is more displeased with the man who says over and over again "I am a sinner" . He would rather that man say "I am a child of God, and I recieve His blessing". Walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh. We Love our brother when we truly understand the atonement. We are not seperate from our brother. You state:"How does a selfish man, of 40 years, learn to give of himself? And love total strangers". As the body of Christ, you are The Son, the one in whom God is well pleased. Love only flows through you to others as you begin to see yourself as innocent and sinless. Statements like the one you posted are not statements of a man who is aware of his own divinity. If you are the body of Christ than i suggest you take your proper seat at the right hand of the Almighty. Because as you release your spirit to its higher place all those whom you meet,"total strangers", will respond to this spirit in like. This is the "kingdom within" that Jesus spoke of. I say the following in the mirror each morning. "The Light of God surrounds me" The Love of God enfolds me The power of God protects me The presence of God watches over me Wherever I am, God is!"
