Subject: Can we determine thr truth of the matter |
Bible Note: Wow, certainly shows our enthusiastic approach to scripture. I find scripture is best understood through the agency of the Holy Spirit. Even how the Spirit of the LORD communicates truth comes under great debate, this of course is nothing new. Jesus Himself said the Holy Spirit would lead us and guide us into all truth and yet there are numerous opinions regarding the truth more numerous to count even within the "Church", depending on our background. I find the biggest deterrent to understanding the Bible is the intermingling of secular thinking in the reasoning process of many Christians. Here is my kicker on this topic and others, real truth is based on revelation knowledge, the same way we receive salvation. Without revelation knowledge everything is up for debate with revelation knowledge nothing is up for debate. Matt 11:25 At that time Jesus began to say, I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth [and I acknowledge openly and joyfully to Your honor], that You have hidden these things from the wise and clever and learned, and revealed them to babies [to the childish, untaught, and unskilled].By the way GOD is not looking for perfection in our behavior, God is expecting us to serve HIM through acts of service and not living a lifestyle of sin, this is NOT perfection. We may stumble on occasion but since we are dead to sin it will be a rare occurrence. Rom 8:5 For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. |
