NASB | 1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 John 1:8 If we say we have no sin [refusing to admit that we are sinners], we delude ourselves and the truth is not in us. [His word does not live in our hearts.] |
Bible Question: Can you accept Christ without acknowledging that you are a sinner? For example: I have a friend who accepted Christ, he was young at the time, and he did it because his grandma told him to do it. Is this possible? |
Bible Answer: Bliss, with no intent to be or sound presumptuous or flippant, I'd have to question whose call the young lad responded to, God's or his grandma's. Obedience to grandma is not sufficient; God alone regenerates. But I have used the word "question" here -- not judge. --Hank |
