Bible Note: Steve, My brother in part yes. What I was stating was that at the time of the crucifixion people were still under the old covenant not the new. Acts 2:38 is not yet available. What happened at the cross with the thief was no less of faith and God's grace than today. This was within Jesus authority to grant salvation here which he did.
