AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Peter 2:24 He personally carried our sins in His body on the cross [willingly offering Himself on it, as on an altar of sacrifice], so that we might die to sin [becoming immune from the penalty and power of sin] and live for righteousness; for by His wounds you [who believe] have been healed. |
Bible Question: I have a friend whose parents are very ill? He wants to know how there can be a God that would allow them to go through so much pain and sorrow? How do I answer this question? |
Bible Answer: Greetings, I pray that your friends parents are saved, Jesus not only died for our sins, but for our pain and sufferings. There are some that would say that we need to suffer, but God says in His Word in 1 Peter 2:24b that by His stripes we were healed. The lying devil will twist all of what God has for us, but we serve a Good God, a God who loves us and care for us, that doesn't sound like a God who wants to hurt us. We should be mad at the devil, he is the one who comes to steal, kill and destroy! The last verse in Psalms 23 says that surely GOODNESS and mercy shall follow me ALL the days of my life. Is pain and sorrow real, you bet they are, but so is the Word of God. God is still healing people, delivering people from addictions and setting people free from the clutches of sin through His Son Jesus. The preaching of the cross to them who are perishing is foolishness, but unto us who are saved, it is the Power of God, 1Corinthians 1:18. There is a process here, being saved and then being healed. This is only a short answer to long question, but I believe God wants to and will heal your friend parents through Jesus, for the Honor and Glory of our God. With God all things are possibe, Matthew 19:26. God bless you as you bring the good news. |
