AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Peter 1:2 ¶ according to the foreknowledge of God the Father by the sanctifying work of the Spirit to be obedient to Jesus Christ and to be sprinkled with His blood: May grace and peace [that special sense of spiritual well-being] be yours in increasing abundance [as you walk closely with God]. Bible Question:
In 1Peter 1:22, what is obeying the truth through the spirit? the NU text omits through the spirit(according the NKJ). What is the interpertation or meaning of this verse? Seedling |
Bible Answer: Greetings in the Lord, The Apostle Peter writes about himself in v.2, through the sanctification of the Spirit unto obedience… (NKJV), and, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ…(NASB). In both cases Peter’s obedience is through the sanctifying work of the Spirit. I believe that for Christians this must always be the case, even though the NU text omits “through the Spirit.” InHisLove, Hans |
