AMPLIFIED 2015 | James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another [your false steps, your offenses], and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God--it is dynamic and can have tremendous power]. |
Subject: Will you pray with me? |
Bible Note: Thank you. I appreciate the prayers. There is no local pastor to go to. The congregation I left about 3yrs ago is one that teaches false doctrines and we left it. They are in to the prosperity preaching, like the t.v. preachers. We live in a rural community about 20-25miles from another town, so there you go. We had a home fellowship until the leader moved away. I have tried counseling as a suggestion, intending to look for a christian church(real one) for this and was willing to drive to where ever we needed to go, but he did not want to do this. He was raised in a very good christian home, and then winning a scholarship at age 16(1 out of 5) in the U.S. to study for 1 year, anywhere in the world of his choice. We thought he was mature enough to handle this, he chose New Zealand, and only after he arrived there did we find out that many are atheist over there, including the host family, he lived with, and all of his peers but one. After returning, he announced that he was gay, did not believe the bible to be the inspired word of God,and left home.So here is my dilema. Yes we covered him in prayer while he was away, thought he was mature enough to handle living abroad, always having a level head,we made a mistake, and now all we can do is pray, turn him over to God, and trust his will to be done. It is a hard place to be when you had so much hope for a child. I guess the old saying(You can't walk through the chicken pen and not expect to get poop on your feet" is true..I thought his faith was stronger than what it was. sunny. |
