Subject: does God know all things? Genesis 22:12 |
Bible Note: "Abraham's offering of Isaac demonstrated the genuineness of his faith and the reality of his justification before God. James is emphasizing the vindication before others of an man's claim to salvation." I'm sorry I'm critical but how is this so? This doesn't make sense to me. Just reading the verse makes sense. And also the first line of the explanation makes sense, but not the second. The explanation seem to undo what James said. James don't only emphasize the vindication before others, but also before God. The good question was ask why God said, 'now I know.' This not about vindication before others, but before God. No matter what man think, all that matters is that God know our faith. Unless it is important to be menpleasers. The only kind of faith that matter is an active or obeying one. We must count the cost of being an disciple even before we decide to build the tower. Faith count the costs and repents. When God sees faith then he says of sinner 'now I know' and justifies.
