Bible Question: My husband was raised Roman Catholic, although he is not practicing the faith actively, he results back to it in times of trial with his rosary. Without trying to insult him, I am trying to find the right words or explanations of what is wrong in the way they practice their religon. That is why he still feels so empty inside. Can someone help me? |
Bible Answer: Catrose62 I saw many advice for you, they are great. I hope you have time to read mine. Convincing other people to change thier belief is very hard without the interventions of Holy Spirit. My question to you is what is your religion, what are your doctrine in your own church? You can convince other people that your believed is true not because you are very good in the debate, or you almost know what is written in the bible, but by setting your self as an example. If we other people think that our faith is the true is just show it to them. We can convince them if they saw that we really follow the doctrine of a true Christian, it is really in our daily life. If you are a baptist or a pentecostal show it to him that your believed is true not by telling him that his believed is wrong but to show him the fruit of a true Christian. Pray for him ask the guidance of the Lord (I know you do) I am not a catholic, at in my own views what I can say yes we notice of too many different of thier doctrines, but then it is God will justify of us all! We cannot say that all of them will go to heaven or go to hell it is only God can justify that. I have many friends belongs to that congregations and they are good persons, so I always pray for them, God has his own way of justifying people, it is in His hand. If your husband saw that people from your congregation did the right things always, it is not hard to convince your husband to change his belief. He himself will notice the beauty of your congregation and then if he realize that he himself will ask you to help him how to practice your believed. What can say is"show him the fruit of a true christian. True Christian cannot recognize as a good debater or a good preacher but as a good fruit, because it was mentioned in the scriptures that: Mt 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. Mt 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. I am not telling that you are not doing what I mentioned here. Just a friendly reminder. We in our congregation we are not really imposing that we are the right, but we tried to show the good fruit of it. God bless, Johnny |
