Bible Question: Many people consider themselves Christians for believing in Jesus and God, and believe themselves to be born again for accepting Jesus as their savior. Of this people many do not strive to follow the word of god. Do you believe these people will be in heaven simply for accepting Jesus as their savior. |
Bible Answer: II Timothy 2:15 - We must rightly divide the word. Most people take their 'salvation' scriptures from the epistles which were letters written to people who were already saved. The historical account of the verbatim preaching of the apostles to lost people on how to be saved is found in the Book of Acts. This is where we can read the actual accounts of people being born again (born of water and the Spirit). Here we find the apostles obeying the great commission and the people obeying the gospel. Acts chapters 2,8,10,16,19 specifically. Here the preaching of the Apostles encompasses more than just belief. I hope this helps. |
