Subject: Are unbelievers in any way "saved"? |
Bible Note: Hello, Steve. No beef from me on your post! You and I have always been, I believe, on the same soteriological page. I just wanted to ask a rhetorical question as I pass by: If there is any other way to heaven besides Jesus Christ, why would God have subjected His precious Son to the agony of the Cross? Of course, both of us know the answer: there ain't none! But apparently some users of this Forum have a tough time digesting the truth of Acts 4:12, John 14:6 as well as the 929 chapters of the Old Testamet and the 260 chapters of the New. The entire Bible, OT and NT alike, looks to the mighty redemptive atonement of Christ. His blood sacrifice is the ransom paid for our deliverance. His shed blood is the scarlet thread of redemption that stretches from Genesis to Revelation. Those who look to find and try to prove alternative paths to justification before the Holy God will find them, if at all, in their own minds, but they will never find them in the word of God. Some years ago my wife and I accompanied our adult son to Yosemite National Park. The grandeur lifted my heart and thrilled my soul to praise for the Mighty God, the Creator. But there is no power in those majestic mountains and cascading waters that can effect the redemptive atonement for my sins and save my soul. Only Christ, ONLY CHRIST, can do that. --Hank |
