AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 1:2 has in these last days spoken [with finality] to us in [the person of One who is by His character and nature] His Son [namely Jesus], whom He appointed heir and lawful owner of all things, through whom also He created the universe [that is, the universe as a space-time-matter continuum]. |
Subject: Holy Spirit and the nature of God? |
Bible Note: Hiram, the capitialization is used to indicate it is a quote from the Old Testamant. Heb. 2:6b-8a is found in Psa. 8:4-6. The NASB should say that is what they are doing. Other translations, like the NIV, will indent the quotes. It may not be an exact quote from passage to passage - but the thought is there. The "Immaculate Conception" according to the Catholics is speaking of Mary, I think. But, you are right. In fact the Holy Spirit came upon her and she got pregnant. I may never understand how - I just accept it. Note that it was her seed that He came (Gen 3:15). Everyone else was born by man's seed. To answer, "is a correct view of the makeup of the Godhead (in heaven at this present time) necessary for salvation"? Not exactly, so I am retracting part of what I said. We do need to know - 1. Heaven is a free fift that we cannot earn. 2. We are all sinners and cannot get there ourselves. 3. God loves us, yet if we do not accept His gift, we will die apart from Him. 4. Jesus is both |
