NASB | Hebrews 1:2 in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 1:2 has in these last days spoken [with finality] to us in [the person of One who is by His character and nature] His Son [namely Jesus], whom He appointed heir and lawful owner of all things, through whom also He created the universe [that is, the universe as a space-time-matter continuum]. |
Bible Question:
Can the Holy Spirit reside in a person who denies the true nature of God? As a new Christian I am very concerned about the makeup of the Godhead. I am not asking for an explanation of different views, I have read the posts on this and other boards and discussed the issue with several lay Christians and Pastors and feel I understand the points of each (oneness and triune). I believe the triune orthodoxy has more Biblical evidence, but I need to pray for guidance. |
Bible Answer: Hiram, It is important to ask questions. Do we understand the true nature of God? I am sure sure anyone does. Take a couple ... He is omnipresence and omnipotent. As I write, He is here and in the next room with my wife. He is there with you. He is in all three of us. He is in heaven. He is more powerful than any atomic power plant. I don't even understand atomic power. To answer your question, I say, no. I accept the true nature of God. Even the Trinity, which I dod not understand fully. If I do not believe in all His nature, how can He be in me? |
