Bible Question:
What was Paul thinking?!?!? I mean, just LOOK at what he had the audacity to say: 2 Timothy 4:17 But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that through me the proclamation might be fully accomplished, and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was rescued out of the lion's mouth. 2 Timothy 4:18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed, and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom; to Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen. This proves 2 things about Paul: 1. He was arrogant. 2. He was ignorant. Both are easily proved by the fact that the doctrine of eternal security is a myth. Once-saved-always-saved is a doctrine made up by Luther and Calvin. Paul may have SAID he knew he was going to heaven, but he was confused. It's possible that he could have become an apostate. He just couldn't have known. Therefore, none of us can know we are always going to be saved. Salvation depends upon our works. BEFORE YOU LAY INTO ME: THIS IS A PARODY!!! Bible Answer: Hi, I am brand new to this post, infact to posting in general. Maybe I am out of line, but making a parody of God's Word? I don't understand your concept or your belief, is this not the inerrant word of God? Just in case I am wrong, here is the definition of parody: A literary or artistic work that imitates the characteristic style of an author or a work for comic effect or ridicule. The genre of literature comprising such works. Something so bad as to be equivalent to intentional mockery; a travesty. And here are just a few scriptures for the eternally secure: 2Peter 2:15-22;Hebrews 6:4-6(fallaway?); Hebrews 3:6-14(departing, hold fast until the end?). I have many more about holding the faith until the end.Salvation is not a parody, it is serious. allenp109@myway.com |
