Bible Question:
What was Paul thinking?!?!? I mean, just LOOK at what he had the audacity to say: 2 Timothy 4:17 But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that through me the proclamation might be fully accomplished, and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was rescued out of the lion's mouth. 2 Timothy 4:18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed, and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom; to Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen. This proves 2 things about Paul: 1. He was arrogant. 2. He was ignorant. Both are easily proved by the fact that the doctrine of eternal security is a myth. Once-saved-always-saved is a doctrine made up by Luther and Calvin. Paul may have SAID he knew he was going to heaven, but he was confused. It's possible that he could have become an apostate. He just couldn't have known. Therefore, none of us can know we are always going to be saved. Salvation depends upon our works. BEFORE YOU LAY INTO ME: THIS IS A PARODY!!! Bible Answer: Hi, JibbyJee! Poor pertinacious Paul! Too bad. He was born 20 centuries too soon. Oh sure, he got to sit at the feet of Gamaliel and was appointed an Apostle by Christ Jesus, but what is that compared to the privilege we have of being taught by the Theological Lone Rangers and Exegetical Supermen of the Internet? They can leap over whole passages of Scripture in a single bound and change the meaning of Scripture faster than a speeding bullet. Poor old Paul. Born 20 centuries too soon. .....
