Bible Question (short): Why is there confusion? |
Question (full): Greetings Makarios, I wish to refer back to this question of studying"dispensationally"that is,rightly dividing the scriptures(2 Tim 2:15)and what does it actually mean? You have given me an answer and I agree with what you have stated. However, since returning to this study website,I have noticed much confusion from many who are looking for guidance. Why is there this confusion? I am of the opinion that it is because they are not rightly dividing God's Word. In his write up "The Basics of Understanding the Bible" Matthew McGee states that the whole bible is written for us, for our learning, but not ALL of it is addressed to us. He also covers what it means to study dispensationally, rightly divide, God's Word. He has an interesting website which you may like to look at as I feel he makes good sense of this subject and has certainly cleared some of my confusion and it may help others too. www.matthewmcgee.org is worth a read. Yours in Christ, Ken John. |
