Subject: Can you be a Pastor if you are divorced? |
Bible Note: The scripture is very clear when it comes to divorce, Mark 10:5-9. Regarding "husband of one wife" in 1 Tim 3:2, if the reason for divorce is not marital unfaithfulness ( Matt 5:31-32 ), and the person marries another, then that person has two wives. The first marriage remains in God's eyes. But just a reminder, serving God is not just being a pastor. One can serve in other ways. One of the reasons for the restriction as mentioned above ( husband of one wife ) is Romans 9:32-33, "a stumbling stone". God's Grace, NGOP |
