Bible Question: I want to know where in the bible it says the a preacher/biship is not to be divorced and does this include his wife. Suppose his wife dies and he remarries, can he marry a divorced woman and still remain a preacher? |
Bible Answer: Dear ystallings, Welcome to the forum. When I am following the thread to read those posts, I have come across with Kalos post #171996 titled with "The Issue is Not Marital Status". Maybe you should take a look as I find it very helpful (at least for me). His post has clarified the questions I have in mind for years. I always feel sad about my brother who got divorced (Let me skip the details. It was not about adultery, he had tried his very best to secure the relationship, but could not change the mind of the woman) a year after being ordained as pastor. Following this is another strike, he was forbiddened to teach at his own church (for his divorce) where he grown up and loved so much. After years of struggle for recovery, he remarried to another woman (I believe she is sent from God). A very devoted and mature Christian. I thank God for sending him this blessing. Shalom Azure |
