Bible Question (short): Does 1 Tim 5 v 23 contradict this? |
Question (full): I believe the word temperate is from the Greek word nephalios, which means abstaining from alcohol. I had taken this to mean that overseers were not to drink alcohol at all. However in 1 Timothy 5 v 23 Paul tells Timothy to drink a little wine for health reasons. Is this contradictory? |
