Subject: Does 1 Tim 5 v 23 contradict this? |
Bible Note: There is a difference between being an alcoholic and a drunkard. You can be an alcoholic and never touch alcohol. And you can be a drunkard (that is a habitual drunk) without having a physical dependence on the substance. So to say that aloholism is wrong is not true. God willingly accepts the worship of alocholics. But he rejects those who have a practice of getting drunk. (1 Cor 6:9, 10) The fact that there is nothing wrong with drinking alcohol in moderation is seen in the fact that Jesus himself turned water into wine during a festival. (John 2:3-9). |
