Subject: 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 WHO? |
Bible Note: John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, THAT HE MAY BE WITH YOU FOR EVER, Who does "you" refer to? Believers Right? 2 Th 2:7 For the mystery of lawlessness doth already work: only there is one that restraineth now, until he be taken out of the way. The above verse doesn't say the Holy Spirit will not remain with believers forever. 2 Th 2:7, if it refers to the Holy Spirit, is merely saying that he, the "restrainer" who holds back evil will be taken out of the way of holding back evil. It doesn't say he will be taken away or removed from those who believe. Once again, I don't see what John 14:16 has to do with 2 Th 2:7 Here is another translations wording of 2 Th 2:7 For the secret of this lawlessness is already at work, but only until the person now holding it back gets out of the way.
