AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we who are alive and remain [on the earth] will simultaneously be caught up (raptured) together with them [the resurrected ones] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord! [John 14:3; 1 Cor 15:52; 2 Cor 5:8; Phil 1:23; Col 3:4] |
Bible Question:
Will there be a partial rapture? Do you believe that only faithful Christians will be taken in the rapture, with unfaithful Christians left on earth to suffer through the Tribulation? Please give the reasons -- the Biblical evidence -- for why you believe as you do. Grace to you, Kalos |
Bible Answer: Hi Kalos, I do not believe in a “partial rapture”. I have never heard this taught and do not find anything in scripture to support it. Rom 10:9 (KJV) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. We are not saved by our faithfulness but by what we have faith in and therefore believe. Furthermore, we don’t even posses the "faith" to believe in and of ourselves. In other words, we can not produce that faith. It is God who gives us the faith through which we are capable of believing in the first place. Rom 12:3 (KJV) For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. So: 1) we are saved when believing in Jesus Christ for salvation. 2) this believing comes through faith. 3) this faith is not of ourselves but given by God “in measure” (so that no man can boast of it). Therefore, I do not believe there is such thing as an “unfaithful” Christian. If one is a true Christian one has believed and confessed Jesus Christ through faith given him/her by God. This faithfulness from God is sufficient Jeff |
