NASB | Colossians 3:21 Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so that they will not lose heart. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Colossians 3:21 Fathers, do not provoke or irritate or exasperate your children [with demands that are trivial or unreasonable or humiliating or abusive; nor by favoritism or indifference; treat them tenderly with lovingkindness], so they will not lose heart and become discouraged or unmotivated [with their spirits broken]. |

Bible Note: oh, okay, I see what you mean, by the difference in provoke and exasperate, Imm, though I don't really see that much of a difference, I think the NASB or the KJV, both do a good job. I'm no expert in translating the Bible, but I do trust the NASB in their translation. When you said you had a "completely" different take, that's were I had a problem, "completely", is a very strong word, and it kind of thew me, sorry. Thank you very much, for the explanation. I didn't intend for you to go to so much trouble, your first paragraph pretty much answered it for me. Thanks again for giving me such a detailed explanation though, I really appreciate it.
