Bible Question:
Col 2:14 "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;" Where in the Bible does it say what part or parts (i.e. ceremonial law, sacrificial law) of the Mosaic Law were were fulfilled by Christ, and what part(s) we are still subject to? |
Bible Answer: Mark, Col 2:14 "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;" I have heard this explanation. In those days when a man was in debt to the point of bankruptcy, the document was posted on his door. Whoever paid (redemmed) the debt took possession of the note and the debtor then became bondservant or slave of the one who paid the debt. God goes one better by making us more than servants and slaves. He takes us in and makes us his childrena and members of His household. Emmaus |
