Bible Question: Thanks, Doc. A followup question, if "heaven" is a metaphor as you said, where are our eternal dwelling PHYSICALLY, which are in "the city that has foundations" (Hebrews 11:9-10) and has "the tree of life" (Revelation 22:1-8)? |
Bible Answer: Hi 123... Citizenship of heaven is a metaphor -- not heaven itself. The time between death and the resurrection is called the interim state by theologians. The saved will dwell in heaven (2 Corinthians 5:6-8). However, human beings without bodies are an unnatural state. Hence we await the resurrection (Revelation 21) and our eternal home, on the new earth. In Him, Doc |
