AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 6:18 ¶ With all prayer and petition pray [with specific requests] at all times [on every occasion and in every season] in the Spirit, and with this in view, stay alert with all perseverance and petition [interceding in prayer] for all God's people. |
Subject: Asking many to pray for us? |
Bible Note: Justme, I could not possibly say anything better about prayer than Hank said so aptly. But there is one side of prayer that is little spoken of today, but I believe it still holds true today. And that is fasting and prayer, especially in combination with intercessory prayer. Jesus spoke of fasting and prayer: Mat 17:21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. Mar 9:29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting. And Paul: 1Co 7:5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency. I just thought I'd share with you the benefits of fasting and prayer, for yourself and for those you are interceding for: Isa 58:6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Isa 58:7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? Isa 58:8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rearward. Isa 58:9a Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. blessings cheri |
