NASB | Ephesians 5:2 and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 5:2 and walk continually in love [that is, value one another--practice empathy and compassion, unselfishly seeking the best for others], just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and sacrifice to God [slain for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance. [Ezek 20:41] |
Bible Question: This is actually going to be discussed in a youth group and I need to "make it plain". They will say "What does this mean 'salvation' is the way?" I thought you said "John 3:16 and Roman's 10:9", so how does this tie together? What would your response be? |
Bible Answer: Romans 10:9 says, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; (salvation)--John 3:16 says that whosoever believes on him shall not perish but have everlasting life (salvation)-- Luke 10:19 says that Jesus came to seek and to save that which was lost (salvation)-- John 14:6 says that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life-- (salvation)--Heb. 2:10 states that Jesus is the author of salvation--Jesus and salvation are inseparable. Jesus came to bring us salvation, and it is the way because Jesus is the way, and it is the avenue we must take and it is only by faith, whosoever believeth on him shall not perish (have salvation).
