NASB | Ephesians 5:2 and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 5:2 and walk continually in love [that is, value one another--practice empathy and compassion, unselfishly seeking the best for others], just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and sacrifice to God [slain for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance. [Ezek 20:41] |
Bible Question: This is actually going to be discussed in a youth group and I need to "make it plain". They will say "What does this mean 'salvation' is the way?" I thought you said "John 3:16 and Roman's 10:9", so how does this tie together? What would your response be? |
Bible Answer: Hi godsavs, I am sorry that I did not recognize you today as a long-time forum friend. I was reading your posts and thought that I would try to tie this together again and ask you how it went for your youth group almost three years ago? Do you remember? John 3:16, "...that whosover believes in (Him) should not perish, but have eternal life." Romans 10:9, "...that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as (Lord), and believe in your heart..." John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, "I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. 7 If you had known (Me), you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him." Colossians 1:28, "And we proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, that we may present every man complete in (Christ)." 2 Cor 5:17, "Therefore if any man is in (Christ), he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold new things have come." Romans 5:10, "For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to (God) through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ through whom we have now received the reconciliation." Ephesians 4:17, "This I say therefore, and affirm together with the (Lord), that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles walk,..." 1 Thess 4:1, "Finally then, brethren, we request and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that, as you received from us instruction as to how you ought to walk and please (God), just as you actually do walk, that you may excel still more." Col 2:6, "As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in (Him)." The parentheses are mine for comparisons and are how I would see the things being tied together. Do we dare to even consider a "new and living (Way)? Hebrews 10:20. From the heart, Ray |
