Subject: Prophets in the church |
Bible Note: Hi Brad; If there are Prophets in the Church today, holding them to the standard of 100 percent 100 percent, would create a problem for the Prophet that is prophesying for the first time, or the second time before his first prophesy has been 100 percent fulfilled. Were there prophesies that (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel) gave that were not fulfilled until Christ was born? If so then they would not have been deemed as True Prophets in there own time would they? We have the advantage of possessing the bible to see they were. The question then remains is, how do you judge a Prophet, (by his religious affiliation, age, is he really saved)? See what I mean, all we can do is either believe God still talks to his people (us) or he doesn't. Then it falls into the category of church doctrine determined by religious interpretation of scripture, and we all know, that is not reliable because there are so many different religions. (example) If I said right now, that I had a word of God for the Body of Christ, or thus sayeth the Lord, would you believe me? I firmly believe God can talk to us through Prophets, but only to the Church, I don't put into the same category a word of wisdom, Faith, knowledge to a single person, or group. My understanding would be the whole body. We say about a lot of things, when we want to make our point, that God has not changed, he is the same today, yesterday, and forever. (Except when it is something we personally don't want to believe) because of our religion, then we will find scripture to make our argument, or just declare that the scripture being used doesn't mean what it is saying, or it is only in one place so it cant be true. We have all seen this type of thing happen. Just came into the Forum, saw your post thought I would give my comment on it. Gods Day to you Nevvvine |
