AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace [God's remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. Subject: Turning to sin after salvation |
Bible Note: BradK Thank you for your reply It just appeared to me that your advice in this instance promoted a life-style of sin. And I personally believe that being a Christian is not merely a label but a life-style. The person who is a born-again Christian will sense the Holy Spirit's conviction for sin. This conviction in the believer's life should bring remorse, and the felt need to confess that sin to God, and ask Him for the power and strength to turn away from any known sin, so that fellowship can be restored. The Christian who persists in what he knows is sin, is not walking in the light and is out of fellowship with Christ Jesus, and is not being cleansed by the blood by which fellowship can be restored. 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If a person thinks he can remain in a chosen life-style of sin and still be in fellowship with Christ, then that person deceives himself and gives evidence that he is not a Christian. The church is to tolerate everything but sin in the life of those who profess to have a saving relationship with the Savior And we are to rebuke those who sin 1 Tim. 5:20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. Now if I misunderstood your advice or motive, I apologize. But once again your advice appeared to give license to sin. Another "Eternal Security" teacher that your probably familar with also gives the same license to sin. "When you are born again by the grace of Almighty God,...It doesn't make any difference how wicked and how vile you act." (Charles Stanley) (Eternal Security You Can Be Sure) (Part 2, Tape #4, RH190 "You can sin like the devil down here and... you won't lose your salvation." (Charles Stanley) in his audio tape #3, MH190 Now I hope you don't also agree with these unBibical statements of Stanley's which also promote license to sin as well. Grace to you New Creature |
