Bible Question:
I would like a pastor or someone very knowledgeable about scripture to answer this question: Supposing a man accepts Jesus Christ as his personal saviour. Two years later, he gives in to homosexual behaviour and continues in that lifestyle until the day he dies. Will this man go to heaven? Please provide scripture |
Bible Answer: december, The issue you deal with is the Eternal Security of the believer! To give a specific answer is nearly impossible given the hypothetical nature of your question. There are only two possibilities. Do you know someone in particular who falls into this category? A lot depends on one's view of salvation. With that given, my answer is yes! If that person is truly regenerate and has believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, absolutely. Based upon Eph. 2:8-9 and Titus 3:5, etc. However, the better question to consider is why would a believer in accord with Titus 2:11-12, foresake God's unmerited Grace? 1 Corinthians 6:11 says,"...and such WERE some of you." You can't out-sin God (Rom.5:20). A true believer would also be in disregard of the entire argument of Romans 6. The bottom line is this: WHY would a believer, accepted by God, loved unconditionally, completely forgiven, made the righteousness of God, and sanctified, continue to behave in such a manner?
