Bible Question:
Sorry that I marked it a note instead of a question. Does "the two" here refer to "both groups (the Jews and gentiles)" in v14? If so, what does "into one NEW MAN" mean? Does it refer to the true church (the body of Christ)? Thanks for your help. Shalom Azure |
Bible Answer: Hi Azure, I think it means both groups. When read in context, I think that is pretty clear. John Gill wrote on verse 15: "Jews and Gentiles, one people, one body, one church; he united them together, and caused them to agree in one, and made them to be of one mind and judgment by the above methods; as well as he gathered them together in one, in one head, himself, who represented them all:" I believe it is written as one man, I suppose, because that that refers to one body, one blood, all in all, and all in Him.
