AMPLIFIED 2015 | Galatians 5:16 ¶ But I say, walk habitually in the [Holy] Spirit [seek Him and be responsive to His guidance], and then you will certainly not carry out the desire of the sinful nature [which responds impulsively without regard for God and His precepts]. |
Bible Question: i often wonder how important character change is to christians. is it possible for believers to walk in the Spirit? if so, how? |
Bible Answer: Hi demonkilla, I believe that there is the consideration of being spirititual and of walking in a spirit of gentleness as well. Galatians 6:1. I think that the word of God teaches that we are not to be of the flesh but of the spirit if the Spirit of God indwells us. I believe that one should consider whether we are born of water and spirit when we enter into the kingdom of God. I would say that that which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the spirit is spirit. The spirit blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going. John 3:8. Jesus said that we need to understand these things. John 3:11, NKJ, "Most assuredly I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness." To my mind Jesus has said, "If I, (being God with you) have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how shall you believe if I (being a Man) tell you heavenly things?" See John 2:12. 1) Galatians 5:5, "For we through the Spirit/, by faith, are waiting for the hope of righteousness. 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love. 7 You were running well; who hindered you from obeying the truth? 8 This persuasion did not come from (Him) who calls you." Romans 7:25b, "...So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God/, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin. 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2 For the law of the (Spirit)..." The / and ( ) are mine for comparisons. From the heart, Ray |
