NASB | Galatians 5:16 ¶ But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Galatians 5:16 ¶ But I say, walk habitually in the [Holy] Spirit [seek Him and be responsive to His guidance], and then you will certainly not carry out the desire of the sinful nature [which responds impulsively without regard for God and His precepts]. |
Bible Question: i often wonder how important character change is to christians. is it possible for believers to walk in the Spirit? if so, how? |
Bible Answer: Hi demonkilla, Character change is definitely important for Christians. Romans 12:1-2 tells us to "be transformed by the renewing of our minds", while in Eph. 4:1 we are Beseeched (exhorted) to "have a walk worthy of our calling". It is not only possible for a believer to "walk in the Spirit", we are commanded to do so by Paul in Galatians 5:16! You might ask the question of why we'd be commanded to do something if it was not possible:-) I suggest for you to read (or re-read) the book of Galatians as it has some direct answers to your question. I hope this helps, BradK |
