Bible Note: Norm, surely you can't mean what you're saying, that "Us" in Genesis 1:26 refers to God and Mary. Talk about the theologicial indigestion emanating from that view! If Mary was present before the creation of Adam and Eve, where did SHE come from? Was Mary the mother of Adam and Eve, and, untold centuries later, the virgin mother of Jesus? Norm, isn't it a lot easier, doesn't it make much more sense, and isn't it also scripturally sound to go with the orthodox view that "Us" in this passage refers to the triunity of God? ...... One has but to read the verses coming before Genesis 1:26 and the verses coming after it -- in other words, the context -- to recognize that God was in the process of His creation of earth and its inhabitants. Mary was many centuries away from being born, much less being God's helper in creation. Norm, please tell us that your statement, "Us refers to God and Mary", was a typo. :-) --Hank |
