AMPLIFIED 2015 | Galatians 3:5 So then, does He who supplies you with His [marvelous Holy] Spirit and works miracles among you, do it as a result of the works of the Law [which you perform], or because you [believe confidently in the message which you] heard with faith? |
Bible Question:
Comparing Galatians 3:2-8 with John 6:28,29. Galatians 3:2, NKJ, "This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? 4...5 Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?--" Question: Does He work miracles among us by supplying the Spirit or spirit? What shall we do, that we may work the works of God? From the heart, Ray |
Bible Answer: As for me, I truly believe in the works of the holy spirit. John 14:15-17 15“If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever– 17the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. John 7:38 38Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” By truly believing, surrendering and "faithing "(no such word in english?- its like a continous tense of faith or "Pistis" in Greek if I am not wrong), I believe the Holy Spirit's guidance is in me, in my growth with the Lord when I realised what God had planned on my character building (one thing after another) by the church, blessings that came, peace, etc. In some ways, I felt a lot of Christians that I know have worked and worked for their salvation and found themselves disillusioned by the works. Would it be wrong if I were to say that, we need not try do anything at all for our salvation? If God has a task for me, I will feel the Spirits guidance when I am called to work. Thus I don't go searching for things to do to please anyone in church - not even my pastors. However, It does not mean I do not serve the Lord at all. I do when I sensed the Holy Spirit instruction either by the word or situations that arises that I will be involved in for the works will then be spiritually led and thus far, all the tasks or assignments that I've done, even when things seems hopeless, He will always prevail and things just fell into place after much prayers of course. As long as I know that whatever I am doing is for His purpose and no one else, I'll be fine. I'm also an advocate on God's timing. Eccl. 3:1 1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: Thus even if things don't work out, I do not feel frustrated. Dissapointed yes but not anger. Just my own feelings. |
